TWRP
Team Win Recovery Project often written as TWRP is an custom recovery. It is an Open-Source Custom Recovery for Android Devices. It provides a touchscreen-enabled interface that allows users to install Custom ROMS and Backup the current System. These types of functions are unsupported by Stock Android Recovery.
Replacing the stock recovery with a custom recovery such as TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) gives you access to the parts of your device that were previously off limits. That’s how you start hacking your phone.
You need to Unlock your Bootloader first. To do so check this.
How to Install TWRP
- If You Have Rooted Device
- If You Don't have Rooted Devices
If You Have Root
1. Install Official TWRP App from Google Play Store
2. Run with root permissions, Tap on TWRP Flash
If Your Device isn't Rooted
1. Download latest Recovery for your device by Visiting TWRP Download
2. Open Odin3 and load your TWRP in AP
3. Reboot your Phone into Download Mode and Connect with Computer
4. Press Start Button, TWRP will be flashed to your Device.
5. Now Boot into Recovery and You can Install Xposed Framework, Magisk and Custom ROMS etc,. 😉
For Non-Samsung Devices:
1. Download TWRP for Your Device, copy TWRP to C:\adb\
2. Open Command Prompt in the adb folder (Shift+RMB ==> Open Command Prompt Here)
3. Enable Android Debugging From Developer Options of Your Device
4. Connect device to PC with USB Cable
5. Type adb reboot bootloader and press Enter, Your device will boot into Fastboot Mode
6. Type fastboot flash recovery <name_of_recovery> Example: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.4.0-0-j5xnlte.img.tar and Press Enter
7. Now TWRP is installed, You can boot into recovery and Flash ROMS, Magisk and much more.
